To create a complete branding identity that evokes a feeling of peace and calmness through a beachy boho style.

Despite being located right on Main Street in Santa Monica, CA, Dream Catchers was struggling to get new business. People were walking by unsure of what the store was and who Dream Catchers were. With that in mind, we decided they were in desperate need of a Brand Identity to send a clear and cohesive message to their current and potential customers of who they are and what they represent.
THE OUTCOME
A completely new brand identity consisting of a new logo, a logo utilization guide, brand colors, and brand type that caters to the calm beachy boho vibe Dream Catchers’ wanted to achieve.
THE IMPACT
By creating a cohesive message to the customers, we were able to create a better understanding of what Dream Catchers is and what they stand for, ultimately creating the potential to get more clients through the door because its more relatable.

THE PROBLEM
Dream catchers is a boutique in the heart of Santa Monica, California located on Main Street. They have a store front location that finds potential new customers walking by. They lack clear signage about what the store is and a clear identity of what Dream Catchers is. Because of this they struggle to get new clients through the door.
After trying numerous social media ads and print banners, they struggled to see any increase in sales. With goals of expanding and opening multiple locations they knew they need to change something or else they wouldn’t be able to achieve their goals or even survive as a business as overhead was increasing.
DEFINING THE BRAND
A hard talk was had, a courageous decision was made, and the owners decided to take a leap into rebranding Dream Catchers. As we sat down together we first established who the ideal customer was, what message they wanted to send to the customer and how we were going to do that. We decided they needed create a new Brand Identity to achieve these goals.
We established 3 words that represented who Dream Catchers is: Beachy, Tranquil, and Luxurious. Beachy not only represented the location, but also the vibe we wanted to give customers. That feeling of being relaxed when they came into the store. It also helped inform the color choices we made by choosing a light brown representing sand and a light blue representing the sky and ocean. Along the idea of being relaxed we next chose the word Tranquil because it gives you a sense of peach and calmness reminding you of a spa. Last, we chose luxurious because we wanted to be a high-end boutique that caters to high-end clients with you guessed it, high-end clothing and accessories.
BRAND REFRESH
From there we created a new logo, established new colors and typography and developed a style guide to ensure the uniformity and cohesiveness of the branding. This created a more cohesive experience and atmosphere for both the physical store front as well as the digital presence.
Initially the idea of a rebrand was scary for the owners but as they saw everything come together and portray everything they wanted Dream Catchers to be they were able to keep moving forward on the journey.
THE IMPACT
By creating a cohesive branding message we are able to quickly educate customers who Dream Catchers is and consistently repeat the same message through every touch point. If all the print and visual materials feature the same branding, then you create a clear image of who your brand is and takes away any confusion from the customers. People desire consistency because it makes them feel comfortable, so by creating a consistent message you create trust with the customers thus making customers want to tell their friends leading to more customers. The cohesiveness of the colors, type and logo gives the customer a clear understanding and evokes the high end boutique feeling of who the brand is as they walk by.
